Ubisoft has just shared its financial results for the previous quarter, which also include a breakdown of game sales for the period. There’s a lot of interesting stats there to peruse (for instance, they sold an almost equal amount of games in Europe and North America, with North America just about edging Europe out), and that includes the breakdown of game sales by platform.
To no one’s surprise, the publisher sold more games on the PS4 than on any other system. 31% of all their game sales came from the PS4, well ahead of the PC, which came in second place with 24%. Xbox One came in third place, with 18%, while Switch rounds out the pack with 11% of game sales. The remaining 16% of the sales came from mobile, legacy platforms like PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and Wii U, and “Others”, though I am not quite sure what’s left at that point.
The notable number there is the Switch one, which manages to be surprisingly high even in the absence of any major release from Ubisoft in that period. The PC/PS4/Xbox One split at this point, of course, is expected, and should surprise no one.
