UK Game Charts: Saints Row IV Debuts at Number 1, Splinter Cell Blacklist in Second

The Saints take over the UK.

The Saints have come marching in, with Saints Row IV debuting at the top position in the UK, knocking off Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition to fourth place according to the latest UKIE Game Charts via Gfk Chart-Track. Despite a change in direction that led to what would be a DLC package for Saints Row The Third becoming a full-fledged sequel, Saints Row IV released to some fairly good critical acclaim.

Of course, it wasn’t the only big release this week as Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell: Blacklist debuted at second place with Disney Interactive’s Disney Infinity at third. Given that the latter is pegged at $100 million in development costs, does this worry or satisfy the folks over at Disney? We’ll know in the coming months.

Among other new releases are Take Two Interactive’s The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The much delayed title, which inspired outrage upon its initial announcement, entered the charts at number 10. Considering the middling reviews, it wouldn’t be surprising if it dropped out altogether next week. Stay tuned.
