Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is Nathan Drake’s “Final Chapter”

Lead designer Kurt Margenau believes fans will be happy with the result.

Echoing year-old statements from voice actor Nolan North that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End could be “the last one”, Naughty Dog’s Kurt Margenau confirmed that this will indeed be Drake’s last hurrah.

Speaking to GameSpot, Margenau (who is lead designer) stated that, “[Druckmann and Straley], our directors, they have a vision [for Uncharted 4]. We are fulfilling that vision and it’s going to be awesome. It’s Nathan Drake’s final chapter, so I think fans are going to be happy.”

The overall tone of the initial trailer, showcased at E3 2014, seemed to indicate that this was protagonist Nathan Drake’s last adventure with many speculating that the game could end in his death. That hasn’t been confirmed or addressed in the slightest thus far, especially as more story details and Drake’s brother Sam have emerged.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will release in Q1 2016 for PS4. Stay tuned for more details, including a release date, in the coming months.
