Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End Multiplayer Will Probably Get A Showing At E3

Lead game designer seen heralding the multiplayer mode on Twitter.

While most of the news about Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been less than a bit depressing, it appears things are starting to look up. First we saw that Sony is slating the release of the game for some time before March 31, 2016 and now we’re hearing that we might be able to get a look at the game’s multiplayer mode at this year’s E3.

These rumors come thanks to hints by developer Naughty Dog that it already has a workable version of the multiplayer up and running right now that the company is working on internally. In a tweet that appears to be all about building some hype for the mode, lead game designer Robert Cogburn said, “Epic match between MP team and QA MP team today. Of course, the MP team won.” The tweet included a hashtag for Uncharted in order to make sure everyone knew exactly what he was talking about.

This tweet was preceded by comments from Cogburn earlier in May that the online mode for the game was “getting to be so awesome.” At the time, it seemed as if this kind of talk was nothing more than a company’s rep trying to stir up excitement for a game that many people hoped would have already been out by now. With the recent revelation about the multiplayer being a working thing, it appears we might actually get to see it at the annual gaming event.

It should also be pointed out that Naughty Dog got it right when it came to the Last of Us’ online multiplayer, so they have a bit of a track record. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End’s release date is still unknown but it will launch next year.
