Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End – New Details On Climbing, Frame Rate And More

Uncharted 4 information surfaces and it's all good.

Speaking by way of the respected gaming publication, PlayStation Official Magazine UK, Naughty Dog have revealed some new information about their highly anticipated game, Uncharted 4: A Theif’s End. Naughty Dog have confirmed that the game will be a “sandbox”, though it may not be a true sandbox world in the same way you think of Far Cry 4 or Just Cause. Instead, Naughty Dog say that they are aiming “for a level of openness Naughty Dog hasn’t courted since Jak 3”, this most likely means that levels will be large and open to exploration but still enclosed.

One of the hottest topics of discussions surrounding Uncharted 4: A Theif’s End, is its frame rate. The developers have said that the demo of the game that was made available for the editors of the magazine was running at 30fps but that they’re still aiming to get the game to 60fps. Though they reiterate their point that if reaching 60fps will impact gameplay, then they won’t reach for it. The developers also revealed that Drake will be able to make use of the grappling hook or axe but climbing will not be easy.

It’s also been confirmed that the game will receive a massive bump in texture quality, jumping to a resolution that is four times that of the previous entry in the series, which already looked great.
