Unfortunately, microtransactions in full priced AAA games are all too often a thing- Naughty Dog are not exempt from something like this, and the multiplayer modes in Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us were subjected to this as well. That has not changed with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End either, sadly. At the very least, though, this means that all other post launch content for the game will be free- so it’s a trade off.
Now that the game has launched, we can tell you that Uncharted Points, purchasable from the PSN Store, are available for as low as $5 (for 500 Points), and as high as $50 (for 10,000 points- theoretically the best value for money, but who is going to spend $50 on microtransactions for Uncharted‘s multiplayer mode?)
These points can only, thankfully, be used to purchase cosmetic items. Gameplay items can only be purchased in game currency.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is available now on PS4.
