Uncharted 4: Nathan Drake’s Brother as AI Companion, Multiplayer Confirmed

Sam Drake will function a lot like Ellie from The Last of Us.

After it was revealed that Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was the cover for Game Informer’s February issue, details for the game have emerged from the preview courtesy of Gematsu.

Multiplayer has been confirmed as part of the release. It also seems that Naughty Dog have been working on Uncharted 4 since Uncharted 3 had released but a full team was placed on the project only after The Last of Us: Left Behind was finished.

The story takes place three years after the third game and sees Drake’s brother Sam inviting his brethren to return to treasure hunting. Sam will function as an AI companion as the two travel to the Madagascar colony of Libertalia. You’ll have to fight off two rival hunters named Rafe and Nadine and contend with Sam’s envy and general craziness.

There will be different tools to use this time around as you hunt artifacts. As the PSX demo showcased, levels will be less linear, allowing players to choose their own route of progression with the help of Drake’s skills.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be out later this year for PS4. Are you excited about it? Let us know in the comments.
