Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be receiving a new mode in December. Playable solo but mostly meant for co-op, Survival is essentially Horde mode where you and two other friends must survival against waves of enemies.
Similar to the Co-Op Arena in Uncharted 2 and 3, Survival promises an “entirely new level of depth, challenge, and variety. From new enemy types and powerful new bosses to a dedicated progression system and expansive upgradable arsenal” according to Naughty Dog on its official blog.
With 10 maps and 50 total waves (and a boss after every 10 waves), you’ll have your task cut out for you. Some of the additional objectives will include collecting treasure within a certain time limit or eliminating certain enemies. Modifiers like “pistols only” or headshots can also be active at times. If you complete objectives, you get more money to unlock more weapons in the map.
Survival also brings exclusive cosmetics for use in both co-op and multiplayer. If you manage to finish it on Hard mode then Crushing mode will become available to truly test you. Look forward to playing the mode at PlayStation Experience – Survival launches in the middle of December.
