Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is slated to be the final adventure of Nathan Drake’s story, but does that necessarily mean that the series is over too? After all, it is hard to imagine Sony and Naughty Dog just letting go of their most successful series? Could they not just continue making more games? Maybe without Nathan Drake, assuming the worst happens to him in Uncharted 4?
Naughty Dog says that just would not feel right.
I think one thing that’s been great about this series is that we have created this…I hate to use the word universe because Marvel’s been overusing it, but we’ve created this world where ancient civilizations remain undiscovered and lots of charismatic and unscrupulous treasure hunters exist to go and pursue these,” said Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End writer, Josh Scherr, said to OPM.
“I suppose you could tell a story in that world without Nathan Drake, but it’s…in some ways it’s a little bit hard to imagine.”
Now it is important to note that he doesn’t deny the possibility of such a game happening in the future, he just says that it wouldn’t feel right. To which I say the millions that such a game would bring in would probably change his mind in the future.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is due out on PS4 in 2016.
