Vanillaware’s Unicorn Overlord is out today, and as a tactical role-playing game from the team behind 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, it offers intriguing combat options, bonding between its dozens of characters and a gorgeous art style. It also has the developer’s most amount of content to date.
However, as Atlus releases more of its titles to PC, why not Unicorn Overlord? Destructoid posed this question to producer Akiyasu Yamamoto, who said the publisher wanted to bring the game to PC players, but its agreement with Vanillaware didn’t allow it.
“As a publisher, we would like to deliver it to PC users as well, but per our agreement with Vanillaware, we are only releasing it on consoles. In other words, there are no plans to port it to PC currently.”
The terms of this agreement are unclear, but if there’s enough demand, a PC port could happen at some point. In other news, Vanillaware CEO George Kamitani also revealed that the team ran out of money during the project’s development. Head here for more details.
Unicorn Overlord is releasing for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. A free demo is available on all platforms, with progress transferring to the game.
