Sega has announced that a demo for its eagerly anticipated Valkyria Chronicles 4, the fourth entry in their cult hit strategy RPG series, and the first to hit home consoles since the original game launched on the PS3 a decade ago, is out today. It is available for the PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch (curiously enough, one does not seem to be confirmed for the PC version of the game yet).
The demo shows off the first steps of Operation Northern Cross, and lets new and returning players alike get a feel for how it plays ahead of the game’s launch next month. The prologue, first two chapters of the game, and a demo exclusive mission are all playable in the demo; best of all, your progress from the demo actually carries over into the full game, so you don’t have to worry about starting over once the game launches, either.
That’s not all, either. Presuming you end up liking what the demo shows you, or you are already sold on the game, and just want to purchase it, there’s good news- the title is now available to pre-load on all platforms, and pre-ordering the game digitally gets you a free exclusive mission as well.
Valkyria Chronicles 4 launches for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 25. If you head on over to Gamescom in Cologne later this month, Sega will be bringing the game there too, as part of its lineup for the event.
