Valve Index Sold Out in 31 Countries – Report

Valve said it's "working hard to build more units and meet the high demand."

Never underestimate the appeal of a brand new Half-Life title. With Half-Life: Alyx launching soon, a report by Road to VR has revealed that the Valve Index is sold out in 31 countries worldwide. This follows similar report where the headset was sold out in numerous countries just after the title’s announcement.

Aside from Japan, every single Valve Index package – from the full kit with the headset, controllers and stations to just the headset or controllers – has been sold out. A spokesperson revealed to the site that, “We are working hard to build more units and meet the high demand. We are targeting to be back in stock before Half-Life: Alyx ships.” Until then, fans can register for a notification when stock next becomes available.

Half-Life: Alyx is out in March 2020 and everyone who owns a Valve Index will receive a copy for free. It takes place just before the events of Half-Life 2 as players control Alyx Vance and attempt to rally the resistance against the Combine. There won’t be any multiplayer modes but Valve has assured that the experience will be as long as Half-Life 2. Stay tuned for more details, including a more concrete release date, in the coming weeks.
