Vita sales are not a concern and “where we would expect it to be” – Sony

Sony happy then why are you unhappy?

Downgrading the forecast of Vita/PSP sales from 12 million to 8 million, Sony has said that they are not worried about Vita’s sales and it is very much where they expect it to be.

Of course, PR speak is something quite hilarious, but I hope they don’t believe what they say considering third-party publishers and retailers aren’t really happy with how things are going right now–based on the software support so far of course.

“Worldwide, the Vita is pretty much along where we would expect it to be, maybe trending behind in certain territories,” Kaz Hirai, CEO of Sony, revealed at the IFA consumer trade show, where the company revealed a lot of exciting new products.

Vita currently has sold 2.2 million units according to the figures revealed at GamesCom, so after almost half a year since the handheld came out, this performance is unacceptable when you consider its competitor 3DS doing better at the same price point.
