PC users be ready – Warframe’s Plains of Eidolon update will be releasing today. Digital Extremes’ ambitious open world update for the free to play shooter was earmarked to release before or after its next devstream. It turns out that it’s coming before then. Way before, as a matter of fact.
Community manager Rebecca Ford noted in an official forum post that, “We are planning on launching Plains of Eidolon on PC today.” The thread itself would offer status updates and Ford invited players to stick around “and join us as we wrap things up with the goal to deploy today.” Of course, there could be hiccups that delay the release but for the most part, the developer seems ready to go live today.
Plains of Eidolon adds a ton of new content to Warframe with a larger open world, a new social space complete with new vendors and quest givers, a day/night cycle that offers varying difficulties and rewards depending on the time, mining, fishing, a rework for the Focus system, a new Warframe called Gara (with her quest Saya’s Vigil launching alongside the update) and much more. Though it’s out today on PC, console players will have to wait till November.
