The wait for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has been a long one, and it turns out it’s going to be even longer than expected. Previously given a release window of this Winter, Embracer Group – parent company of Saber Interactive, the game’s developer – had said earlier in the year the game was expected to release sometime before April 2024, though publisher Focus Entertainment has now announced a delay.
As part of its recent quarterly fiscal report, Focus Entertainment has confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is now expected to launch during the second half of 2024. The publisher says the decision was made to give developer Saber Interactive “the time needed to properly polish the game and to ensure the best possible experience.”
“Focus Entertainment is committed to releasing a game that is of the highest quality and that exceeds the expectations of the countless fans of the franchise,” the publisher said.
Focus Entertainment has also confirmed that it will be announcing the new release date for the highly anticipated third person shooter in early December, which means it’s more than likely we’ll be seeing the game at The Game Awards, which are scheduled for December 7.
Whenever it launches, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
