Wasteland 3 Announced, Introduces Co-Op To The Series

Plus, the first (prototype) screenshots inside.

Looks like Wasteland 2 was a pretty successful revival of the classic RPG series, and a successful venture for developer inXile. inXile today announced Wasteland 3, the next entry in the original post apocalyptic nuclear wasteland RPG series, due to hit PC, Mac, and Linux alongside – and this here is the kicker – PS4 and Xbox One, also making this the first game in the franchise that hits consoles at the same time as it hits PC.

The new game will be the first game in the franchise that includes co-op, allowing up to two players to play through the entire campaign together. It will also feature a revamped action system, more environmental hazards, the addition of vehicles to the game, and the return of ranger bases. All in all, it looks to be a mix of the familiar with some genuinely new features- just the kind of sequel we need.

Wasteland 3 will be crowdfunded on Fig, where inXile are attempting to raise $2.75 million. No release date has been shared for the game yet. You can check out the first set of prototype screenshots below.
