We already know that Watch Dogs 2 is coming – Ubisoft confirmed as much in their financial briefing this year – but until we get an official announcement, I guess every clue we can find that hints at the sequel to 2014’s open world action adventure game is exciting.
One of those showed up today- a pre-order page for Watch Dogs 2 on the website of the world’s leading retailer of video games, GameStop. GameStop lists Watch Dogs 2 as a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game, although, sadly enough, it doesn’t give us a release date or even a release window. Also, a PC version of the game assuredly exists, too, but since the PC gaming retail market is all but dead in the UK, it’s not too surprising to not see GameStop list or even acknowledge it.
Watch Dogs released in May 2014 for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC (a release on Wii U followed later that year). The game, while massively successful at retail, was met with middling reviews, owing to a dull protagonist, and repetitive gameplay. It is currently unknown how the sequel will improve on the first game’s gameplay, or even what city it will be set in.
