Watch Dogs 2 Revealed: ctOS 2.0, Online Multiplayer, Story Details and More

DedSec lives and will unite to save new protagonist Marcus Holloway.

Ubisoft officially revealed the trailer for Watch Dogs 2 along with a bunch of details regarding the game’s setting, story and gameplay.

Players take control of Marcus Holloway in San Francisco as he battles the algorithms of ctOS 2.0 accusing him of a crime he hasn’t committed. The hacker will target the city’s operating system, enabling him to hijack cranes, cars, drones, robots and so on. You can even create drones of your own equipped with weapon upgrades. It’s also been confirmed that you can either go about being completely stealthy in your missions or accomplishing them with guns alone. You can complete missions in any order and they each have their own story, contributing to Marcus’s “follower count” and leading closer to the ending.

Watch Dogs 2’s open world will still facilitate car chases but the driving system is being overhauled to allow for better handling than the first game. Oakland and Silicon Valley offices are included in the game along with Marin County and Fisherman’s Wharf. Different areas offer different infrastructures and buildings to navigate and you can expect the people to be incredibly similar to how they’d act in the real world equivalent.

There will also apparently be online multiplayer wherein players meet others through in-game play, simply running through the world, thus allowing for PvP or co-op. Simply join your friends through the friends list without relying on any menus.

Information on the special Deluxe, Gold and San Francisco Editions was also provided. The Deluxe Edition includes the game, a San Franciso map, lithographs, digital items for customization an exclusive sleeve for $69.99.

The Gold Edition includes all of the above but with the Season Pass for $99.99. The San Francisco Edition meanwhile comes with all the content from the Deluxe Edition, a Marcus figurine, collector’s box, laptop stickers and The Zodiac Killer mission (which can also be obtained by pre-ordering any edition) which provides an extra outfit.

But wait, there’s more: The Wrench Junior Robot Collector’s Pack and DedSec Collector’s Case, the latter which contains the Gold Edition, Marcus’s scarf and cap, a 64 page art book and a DedSec Marcus figurine and DedSec themed memorabilia including among other collector items, the DedSec art Marcus figurine, Marcus’ scarf and cap replica and an exclusive 64 page artbook. It’s available via UPlay.

Watch Dogs 2 is out on November 15th for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
