Watch Dogs 2: Ubisoft Says Over 80% Of Players Of First Game interested In ‘Exploring’ The Sequel

"We heard what our fans were saying."

The original Watch Dogs was one of the most hyped games of the generation, which then gave way to an enormous amount of disappointment once the game was actually out, and turned out to not necessarily live up to its promise. Ubisoft’s development teams revealed recently that the dissatisfaction with the first game was something that they were aware of as they went into developing the sequel.

“We’ve heard what our fans were saying, and we think we have ticked all the boxes to improve everything they wanted, plus we have brought some new innovation,”Ubisoft’s EMEA Boss Alain Corre told MCV UK. “The new character Marcus is very charismatic. You can hack anything you want and it is now twice as big as the previous one. It is also super colorful and nice to look at.

Ubisoft are apparently expecting the new game to stick the landing, because in spite of all the missteps made by the original game, it sounds like its players are pretty willing to give the sequel a chance. “More than 80 per cent of the original Watch Dogs players say they want to explore Watch Dogs 2, plus we will appeal to new fans.”

Let’s hope, then, that Watch Dogs 2 is an improvement over the first game- the game is widely expected to be to the original Watch Dogs what Assassin’s Creed 2 was to the original Assassin’s Creed– if it lives up to even half that standard of improvement, I think all of us can come away from it happy.
