Watch Dogs Legion Listing Appears on Amazon – Play as Any NPC in London

It wouldn't be E3 without premature Ubisoft leaks.

The rumours have been swirling for quite a while now, with Kotaku’s Jason Schreier confirming that the next Watch Dogs is indeed set in London. However, thanks to PS4 listing on Amazon UK, we’ve seemingly learned the sequel’s official name: Watch Dogs Legion. No information was provided on the release date, but it’s expected to release in November.

However, there are plenty of details in the product description. This time around, it seems that you can play as any NPC in London. “Play as anyone,” reads the description. “Every individual you meet in the open world, has a full set of animations, voice over, character traits and visuals that are generated & guided by gameplay system.”

The description also notes that Watch Dogs Legion is set in a “near-future, dystopian” London. “It’s a post-Brexit world in which society, politics and technology have changed and altered London’s fortunes. London is one of the most iconic cities in the world and has had a massive influence on all of Western Culture for centuries… London makes total sense for WD, as the city has one of the highest surveillance levels in the world making this the perfect playground.”

According to Schreier, the listing is indeed real. The name was heard from numerous sources who were associated with Ubisoft. He also confirms that the ability to play as any NPC after recruiting is true, and that this will determine the different things seen throughout the game.

Interestingly, the sheer ambition of the system has been causing some problems for the development team, and “may have led to at least one delay.” It isn’t long now before we get a full reveal at E3 2019. Ubisoft’s presser will take place on June 10th at 1 PM PT/9 PM UK time. Stay tuned for more leaks – Ubisoft has already seen one with Roller Champions recently.
