This month has been filled with some unexpected delays. Ubisoft especially got hit hard as several high profile games were delayed until later in 2020. One of those games was Watch Dogs Legion. But there is a blessing in disguise here, as the extra time will also mean extra polish, which the company hopes to take full advantage of.
The development team addressed the delay already, which you can read about through here. As part of the earnings conference call Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot also confirmed part of the delay was to utilize more power from next generation consoles. Things like improved loading, faster download times and improved visuals are all things they hope to see come with the added time.
“On the five titles yes, they will be on this generation and the next generation of consoles and they will take full advantage of all the new features that are coming with the machines, which are actually going to be extremely interesting for players,” he said.
Watch Dogs Legion was originally going to be released March 2020, but has since been delayed until later next year. It will launch across most major platforms, and we’ll keep you updated on when the new date is revealed.
