Xbox One X and PS4 Pro allow developers the chance to target higher end graphics and enhancements for their games than they would get if they targeted the base PS4/Xbox One spec. Speaking to GamingBolt exclusive, Julien Desourteaux, the Game Director of Werewolf: The Apocalypse, pointed out that from a development perspective, for instance, the Xbox One X’s GPU can lead to far better graphics than you would get on other consoles.
“The more GPU [power] you have, the better graphics you can have,” he said. “It’s all about why PC is always better. Because they have more CPU and GPU [power]. The more you have, the best it is. The same with the RAM. The more memory you have, [the better it is].” The comparison with the PC platform is an interesting one. The Xbox One X in many ways is a super-charged PC (it”s basically running on Windows 10), but its hardware specs are way above your average gaming PC, so it will most likely outpower the majority of PC gaming harware for a couple of years to come (except the enthusiast builds).
That said, he can’t yet comment on whether Werewolf will have any Xbox One X or PS4 Pro enhancements. “It’s too early [to tell]. But since this runs on Xbox One, I think it will run on Xbox One X. May be 4K but I don’t know yet. We are still in pre production. For now it’s going to be on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.”
When asked about the Nintendo Switch, he stated there are no plans yet. Regardless, for now, if you want to play Werewolf: The Apocalypse, a PS4, Xbox One, or PC – any kind for all of them – would probably be your best bet.
