Microsoft’s Xbox One is currently only available in black to the general public- but the company did also produce white units of the console which it gave out to the development team that worked on the system. Ten of these have now shown up on popular internet auction site eBay, where they are going for as high as $1500.
$1500 is actually the lowest price, believe it or not- the prices go as high as $3500 for white Xbox One with Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome, and Dead Rising 3 included.
This would mark the first time the white Xbox One consoles have been made available to the general public (albeit through unofficial channels, obviously)- the system was only made available to the public in black, with Microsoft maintaining that they had no intention of mss producing and selling the white one.
So, the white Xbox One is indeed a rare unit- and if you’re willing to pay the (obscene) premium associated with it, you could get some serious bragging rights.
