Windows 10 will be receiving the Anniversary Update on August 2nd which will add a number of recently announced features, most prominent among them being the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative. Henceforth, any Xbox One game you purchase will also net you a Windows 10 copy with your progress carrying over between the two versions.
Though other features that were expected include G-Sync, unlocked frame rates and improvements to UWP, it wasn’t specifically mentioned with the release date announcement. At least Xbox One will be receiving some new features like background music, Cortana and the Xbox/Windows 10 marketplaces being unified.
Along with the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, Microsoft also announced that Windows 10 users will be able to play co-op with Xbox One users through cross-platform compatibility.
