Windows 10 Takes Up 1.5 GB on Xbox One

That's one big update.

The New Xbox Experience powered by Windows 10, which launches this November for everyone, apparently takes up a whopping 1.5GB of your hard drive space, VG247 Italy reports. This makes it the biggest update for any game system ever yet.

It makes sense, too- the New Xbox Experience completely and thoroughly revamps the Xbox One UI, basing it off of Microsoft’s just launched Windows 10, in an attempt to address a lot of longstanding issues with the Xbox One interface. Early impressions from the beta have been positive, and the UI has been praised for being quick and far less obtuse than its predecessor. It’s essentially an all new OS rewrite- so it makes sense that it would be big.

Xbox One consoles ship with at least 500GB of on board storage, so there ideally shouldn’t be any issues with having enough space to install this- but still, if you have way too many games installed, maybe now would be a good time to do some spring cleaning.
