Despite dipping hardware sales on a year to year basis, and an overall 42 percent decrease of hardware sales in the US this past April, Microsoft’s Xbox 360 managed to sell 130,000 units. This makes it the 28th consecutive month that the console has outsold its competitors in the United States.
It currently holds a 42 percent share of the current generation console market, with total retail spent on the console in April – which includes hardware, software and accessories – having reached $208 million.
As Sony preps announcements for the PS Vita and hypes the PS4, besides having declared the existence of Gran Turismo 6 for this year on the PS3, Microsoft is still holding quite a bit of momentum as far as the reveal of its next Xbox is concerned.
Microsoft will be debuted its next generation console on May 21st to the world. The device has thus far been codenamed Durango, Xbox 720, Infinity and much more.
