Xbox Exclusive Marketing Rumours For New Splinter Cell, Battlefield 5, Borderlands 3 And The Division 2 Might Not Be True After All

E3 rumours are starting early this year.

There have been some reports going around lately that Microsoft may have managed to nab exclusive marketing rights for some major upcoming third party games, from Cyberpunk 2077 and Battlefield 5 to Anthem and Splinter Cell. You don’t need us to tell you that, if true, that’d be pretty huge news.

Of course, that doesn’t mean the games in question would be exclusive to the Xbox One, but it does mean that Microsoft can advertise these games exclusively and they can promote their console by showing these games running on an Xbox One or Xbox One X. However, it seems like there isn’t much truth to these reports after all.

IGN’s executive editor, Ryan McCaffrey, recently took to Twitter to briefly speak about these reports, and quickly dispelled the possibility of them being true. He mentioned that a number of people had been asking him about the aforementioned Xbox leaks, before implying that they’re not true at all, saying that “the Fake E3 Rumors season has started early this year”.

Of course, just as the previous reports weren’t official by any means, neither is this, but it does provide a contrary view. We suppose we’ll find out one way or another sooner or later anyway- perhaps at E3? Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
