Xbox Live Has 59 Million Users, Gaming Revenue Up Year-Over-Year

Gaming revenue for the quarter increased $345 million year-over-year.

In its most recent financial results for the third  fiscal year quarter ending March 31st 2018, Microsoft announced that total Xbox Live users currently sat at 50 million. While this represents a 7 million increase year-over-year, it’s flat compared to the second quarter of the current year.

More Personal Computing, which consists of Xbox business among other things, saw $9.9 billion in total revenue. Again, while this is up by $1.1 billion year-over-year, representing a 13 increase, it’s down compared to the second quarter of this year ($12.2 billion revenue).

Gaming revenue for this quarter increased $345 million or 18 percent year-over-year thanks to Xbox software and services seeing a 24 percent revenue growth. For the nine months of this fiscal year, gaming revenue increased 9 percent or $658 million. Xbox software and services revenue growth was at 15 percent during this period.
