Xbox One Adds HBO Now Just Days Ahead Of Game of Thrones Season Debut

Microsoft is not wanting to lose the millions of viewers the program is sure to net.

Just ahead of this Sunday’s season debut of Game of Thrones, Microsoft has announced the launch of the HBO Now application for its Xbox One dashboard. You can download this application through the app store, the same way you have been able to download other applications like this such as the relatively new Sling TV app.

Xbox One users likely were a bit confused when the application first launched on Thursday because it was carrying a price tag of $399. Considering these kinds of apps tend to be entirely free and then the larger service charges a monthly fee, users had to be scratching their heads.

We have confirmed that the glitch has since been ironed out and it now shows it as completely free to download. If you are brand new to HBO Now and Game of Thrones, you’ll have the added bonus of watching the first couple of episodes of this season free of charge. HBO Now offers a 30-day free trial for new users.
