Xbox One and Xbox One X Have A Feature To Combat OLED Burn In

Microsoft will help ensure your consoles don't damage your TVs.

Remember image burn in on plasma TVs? That is also a thing with OLED screens (if not as severe an issue as it was with plasma panels). As OLED TV adoption goes up, it is something that more and more people need to be cognizant of.

Microsoft, on their part, will be doing their bit to combat this issue with the Xbox One and Xbox One X- as Windows Central reports, Build 1170 of the Xbox One OS will have a feature to combat this issue, by having a screensaver of sorts that will begin gradually scrubbing your screen after a period of inactivity- you can see a (high contrast, for demonstration purposes) GIF of the feature in action at the source.

Given that OLED TVs are expensive (thanks to their image quality), it is good to see that Microsoft has thought up a way to ensure that their hardware won’t damage yours.
