Microsoft continues releasing regular updates for its Xbox One firmware and OS, and, true to tradition, the monthly update for April is now available for Xbox One.
One downside of having such regular updates is that you soon begin to run out of headlining features to advertise with each update- while Sony, which releases a PS4 update about twice a year, can advertise massive feature rich updates in clumps, by this point, Xbox One’s anticipated features are either all already out, or spread out across multiple updates.
That said, this month’s update is still pretty good. The update brings improved troubleshooting for party chat, improvements made to game hubs, so they are more easily discoverable, an update for Achievements, so that the description of the Achievement is displayed alongside its score and title when you earn it (saving you the necessity of opening up the Achievements app to check on it), and a What’s On area hub for US and Canadian Xbox systems.
Just nice, quality of life improvements- Microsoft is now at the point where they have fixed all that was broken or wrong with their OS, and they can work on the smaller things instead.
