The Xbox One may not be the highest selling console of this generation, but it looks like it is doing reasonably well on other metrics. For instance, speaking on Twitter to fans, Phil Spencer confirmed that the software attach rate for Xbox One is great, including for third party games.
Responding to the concern that Xbox fans no longer buy third party games like they used to, Spencer said that Xbox owners are buying games just fine, they purchase DLC, online usage is high, and reiterated, in explicit terms, that the attach rate on the system is great.
Spencer also reiterated, however, that in addition to third party games, first party games are important to the future of Xbox- which gives me hope that there is something big in the works. With the impending launch of the Xbox Scorpio later this year, it will be interesting to see how Microsoft plans on tackling the lead that the PS4 has surmounted.
