After nixing its old DRM policies for the Xbox One, Microsoft has revealed new information on just how digital game sharing will work this time around. Like the Family Sharing plan, anyone can access your digital library, and Xbox Live Gold will be tied to the console, not to the Gamertag. So it’s possible for some one who wants to use their own Gamertag to play games or access Live from your console to do so.
You’ll also be able to share digital games, and according to IGN, Microsoft has stated that you won’t need Xbox Live Gold to be able to do so. You will only need Gold for multiplayer or entertainment apps. You’ll also be able to purchase games and such on a friend’s console, which will be available to your own console as well.
Finally, since Gold is tied to the console and not one’s Gamertag, any one who uses the console can just log in with their Gamertags and use Gold. Now, how many people (or Gamertags) will be allowed for access Gold from a single Xbox One remains to be clarified.
