Xbox One Game Gifting Feature Might Return Some Day – Major Nelson

But it won't be there at launch.

After Microsoft completely overhauled its DRM system for the Xbox One, one of the features that got the boot was the ability to gift and trade games. And while it won’t be there at launch, director of programming for Xbox Live Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb has revealed that it’s still a great feature that the company would like to bring back some day.

Responding to a query on Reddit, asking if the ability to gift games would be available at launch, Hyrb responded, “Great feature we’d like to add in someday, but it won’t be there at launch.”

There’s been a lot of hoopla over whether it was right of Microsoft to include these features along with the intrusive DRM and always-on Kinect. After removing them, there was even more hoopla which called for their return. Would you like to at least see this feature make a comeback one day? Let us know in the comments.

The Xbox One is slated to release on November 22nd for 13 territories worldwide.
