Microsoft’s Xbox One launched in India last year, but the launch was a bit limited- the console was only sold in India online, via an exclusive partnership with Amazon India. Today, Microsoft announced that they are increasing the console’s retail footprint in the country, as the Xbox One will now be sold at Microsoft Priority Reseller stores all across the country.
Microsoft announced that the Xbox One console, Xbox Live, Xbox One Accessories, and all Microsoft-published Xbox One game titles, will be sold at select Microsoft Priority Resellers across the country starting September 1st, 2015. To begin with, Xbox One Consoles and associated Games and accessories will be available in 27 Microsoft Priority Resellers across eight cities, namely Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune and Chandigarh.
Of course, if they are not available in your city, or at a convenient location, you can still just go ahead and order the console from Amazon- and considering just how much more reach the e-retail sector has in India over traditional brick and mortar shops, Amazon is probably still going to be the primary method of Xbox One distribution in the country.
