Xbox One’s eagerly anticipated Summer update for the Dashboard, which adds a plethora of features, including the long awaited background music functionality, is now being rolled out to users. It started to be made available over the weekend, and will continue to be rolled out over the coming few days. If you own an Xbox One, be on the lookout for it.
The Summer Update adds Cortana, Microsoft’s virtual voice assistant, who will now finally be available on Xbox One, and will thankfully be usable with just about any microphone (instead of just via the Kinect, which was the case for voice search and navigation on Xbox One previously). Background music capability has also been added to the system, and it is compatible with a variety of apps, including iHeartRadio (which will launch on Xbox One soon) and Pandora.
So make sure to download the new update- it seems like it adds some much wanted (and some would argue needed) features to the console.
