Microsoft Shipping More New IPs For Xbox One in 2016 Than They Have In A Long Time

I mean, we can count, you know, we didn't need to be told that.

In spite of Microsoft’s assertions, 2015 hardly was the ‘greatest Xbox lineup in history.’ It was good, but standard- and the only reason it got any hype at all was because of how much of an improvement it was over the last few years of Xbox games. But 2016, on the other hand- now that looks great. It has a lot of new, exciting exclusives coming to the Xbox One, which seem like they may yet convert the unfaithful to the Xbox One cause.

Phil Spencer certainly believes so- on Twitter, he noted that 2016 should be a great year for Xbox, especially with as many new IPs as they are launching. “Should be a very good [year],” he said. “Shipping more new IP than we have in a long time. Good challenge to make new IP succeed.”

The new IPs he refers to are, of course, Quantum Break, ReCore, Scalebound, and Sea of Thieves- four new retail IPs, which should lend some flavor and variety to the Xbox One lineup, and appeal to those outside of the traditional Microsoft Halo/Gears/Forza audience.

Let’s hope these games are as great as they look to be- I’d love for Microsoft to expand their first party offerings.
