Xbox Series X Price Won’t be Revealed at July 23rd Showcase – Rumor

The focus is purely on games for this month's first-party showcase.

Yesterday, Microsoft confirmed that its first-party studios showcase for Xbox Series X would be held on July 23rd. While 343 Industries’ Halo Infinite is confirmed to be appearing and titles like new Perfect Dark and Fable 4 are rumored, it seems we won’t be hearing about the console’s price. This was hinted at by Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad, who tweeted a mock poll suggesting that the price wouldn’t be revealed.

The Verge’s Tom Warren then chimed in to note that there would be “just games”. If Microsoft doesn’t outline the price this month, then it could likely be saving the announcement for August. That’s when Gamescom Opening Night Live 2020 will take place. It remains to be seen if Sony will follow suit and announce a price for the PlayStation 5 at the same time.

The Xbox Series X is currently slated to release this holiday season. Rumors have also indicated that a low-cost option, codenamed Lockhart, could also launch alongside it. Lockhart is rumored to have 7.5 GB of usable RAM, a lower-clocked CPU and 4 TFLOPs of GPU performance. Stay tuned for more details on it and Microsoft’s other plans in the coming weeks.
