Xbox Showcase at TGS 2020 Won’t Have New Next-Gen Details

There will be details on Microsoft Flight Simulator, Minecraft and so on.

With the Xbox Series X slated to arrive in November, it’s somewhat troubling that no details on price or pre-orders has been revealed, much less an exact date. Sony is facing the same issue with the PS5 but a rumored mid-September showcase could fix that. As for Microsoft, it also has a rumored event and a Tokyo Game Show showcase to fall back on.

Except not really. While the jury is still out on the rumored showcase, which will apparently have details on the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, the company has confirmed on Twitter that there will be “no new next-gen news” at TGS 2020. Instead, the focus will be on updates for Microsoft Flight Simulator, the Japanese Minecraft community and “celebrating” Japanese creators and titles.

This news isn’t too surprising and honestly fuels rumors of pre-TGS showcase all the more. Once again, however, we’ll need to wait for official confirmation so don’t get those hopes up. Tokyo Game Show 2020 is slated to take place online from September 24th to 27th.
