Xbox’s March Update Said To Also Address Xbox Series X/S Controller Disconnect Issue

Despite not being in the notes, apparently there is a fix of some kind.

March is almost halfway done, but the work never really ends. Since the launch of new consoles in November, there has been plenty of updates and fixes, but some nagging issues still remain. One bizarre one is controller disconnect problem that people have been reporting with the Xbox Series X/S (more Series X than S, oddly enough, but there have been reports for both). March’s update for Xbox was detailed earlier last week to include some new options for HDR and FPS boosts, but it seems the controller issue was also addressed, at least somewhat.

Xbox’s Jason Ronald took to his official Twitter to clarify that the March update did include some fixes for the disconnect issue. For whatever reason, this is missing from the official report. Ronald also states that it will fix “many” of the disconnects, so it could also mean that what the problem won’t be entirely fixed, either.

There was an earlier workaround for the problem that Microsoft released, but it seems whatever is causing this disconnect problem hadn’t been totally identified as of yet. The Xbox March update has been released, so hopefully it helps the lion share of disconnect problems.
