Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – “Future Connected” Epilogue Has New Battle System

The epilogue will focus on Melia and also have "new map(s)."

Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition is still a good month off from release. However, download cards for the game are already available with retailers in Japan. Rokumanjigaga on Twitter managed to capture the back of the packaging, which offers more details on the “Future Connected” epilogue.

As per Gematsu’s translation, “Future Connected” is “An untold story that connects to the future: Includes an additional scenario that reveals Melia’s after-story. A new battle system that utilizes Nopon reinforcements and new map(s) will also appear.”

Melia is, of course, one of the seven playable characters available throughout the course of the base game. What happens to her in “Future Connected” which takes place one year after? We’ll have to wait and find out but the prospect of new gameplay features in addition to story content sounds good.

For those who want to find out immediately – and already played the base story – “Future Connected” will be playable immediately once the game is out. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition releases on May 29th for Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more details and ideally more gameplay in the coming weeks.
