Yakuza: Like A Dragon Features Bonus Costumes Based On Previous Characters

Japan-specific retailers will get the DLC.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is shaking up things for the long running franchise big time. It’s taking the brawler gameplay of previous entries and turning it into a full scale turn based RPG. While the gameplay may be a big departure, in a lot of ways the game will still be classic Yakuza. One way will be its homage to past titles and characters with special costumes.

The game, which has gone gold in Japan, will have bonus costumes based on characters from the game’s storied past as announced by Sega. The costumes will include Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima from Yakuza 0, Ryuji Goda, Daigo Dojima, and Kaoru Sayama from Yakuza 2, Taiga Saejima and Makoto Date from Yakuza 6, and a special costume for Haruka Sawamura that’ll be based on a fan submission.

The DLC will be distributed via various Japanese retailers that will be announced closer to the game’s release. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t have a release date for outside Japan just yet, so it’s hard to say how the costumes will be implemented when the game launches in 2020 on PS4. We’ll keep you updated. In the meantime, the game does have Japanese demo you can check out now.
