Yooka-Laylee Finally Launches on Switch on December 14

Not Banjo Threeie, this isn't.

Before Yooka-Laylee had launched, and people had realized that it was ultimately not all that great a game (even though, admittedly, it does have its heart in the right place), many had emphatically stated that the Nintendo Switch would be the best place to play the game- after all, would a Nintendo 64-era inspired 3D platforming collectathon not be right at home on a new Nintendo system? Which is why the news that it would come to the Switch well after it had hit the other platforms ended up bumming so many out.

Now, of course, months after Yooka-Laylee launched, I doubt as many Switch players care about picking the game up- but if there are any who are still interested, Playtonic have announced that the Switch version of the game will be releasing on December 14, with pre-purchases opening up on December 7. The Switch version will come with “loads of polish” (the lack of which was one of the biggest problems in the original release), local multiplayer support, a custom achievements system, and it will run at 900p docked, and 720p in handheld mode.

You can check out the trailer for the Switch version below; the game is also available right now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
