Zenimax Dev: Elder Scrolls Online to Run at 30fps on PS4 /Xbox One, Talks DX12 Support

Director Matt Firor talks about the MMO's current gen version and inevitable future.

Zenimax Online Studios’ The Elder Scrolls Online is now in a subscription-free stage with Tamriel Unlimited and it’s on track to release for PS4 and Xbox One. GamingBolt spoke to director Matt Firor about the frame rate for both current gen versions of MMORPG along with his thoughts on DirectX 12.

Firor stated that, “We’re getting close to launch now and we’re pretty confident we’ll have 30fps standard on both XB1 and PS4.” With regards to DirectX 12, which rolls out this holiday season, Firor said that, “As an old PC developer, we are accustomed to one thing over everything else: change. As such, we take the changes as they come – obviously DX integration is a staple of our livelihood, so we’ll do what we need to do. We’ll still need to support older DX versions on Vista, Win7, Win8(.1) and of course on 10 we’ll need to make sure we support DX12.”

The Elder Scrolls Online is out on June 9th for Xbox One and PS4. Stay tuned for our full interview with Matt in the coming days. Will you be picking it up? Let us know in the comments.
