After announcing that it would be setting up a new office in Malta, where co-founder Andrew Prokhorov and CTO Oles Shishkovstov would be relocating to oversee development, 4A Games has announced that it is developing “unannounced titles within the Metro universe as well as further, unannounced projects”. Publisher Deep Silver, which currently holds the rights to the Metro franchise, earlier teased the reveal of two unannounced titles for E3.
On the new Malta offices, 4A Studios CEO and head of business development Dean Sharpe stated that, “By basing our new headquarters in Malta, a member state of the EU, 4A Games will be able to better compete on the international stage. Malta offers fantastic incentives for game development, and we are confident 4A Games will be able to attract the very best talent from Ukraine, Malta and beyond.”
Andrew Prokhorov also added that, “This marks the start of a new chapter for 4A Games. We are proud of our achievements as a young studio, and humbled by the response to our output so far. The team is looking forward to this new adventure.”
What’s next for Metro? We’ll need to wait till E3 2014 to find out so stay tuned.
