Somewhat unexpectedly, remasters seem to have become big business for Activision. The company once didn’t bother with them on any significant level, but with the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy taking off like crazy, it seems that philosophy has changed. Since then we’ve seen them redo Crash Team Racing and the original Spyro trilogy as well. Seems Activision isn’t ready to stop.
In their most recent financial call results, Activision mentioned they have several “remastered” and “reimagined” titles in development. No word on what any of them are, but there’s still a lot of Crash and Spyro games to dig out of the closet.
There was no time frame for when these will come out or what platforms they’ll be on. Activision only confirmed they will announce at least some of them sometime this year. The company has a decent catalog of nostalgia bait, and they’ve done quite the job of remaking some classics, so hopefully that trend continues.
