AMD Posts Losses Amidst Low PC Sales

Some bad news for AMD fans.

Though many exalt the prowess of a formidable gaming PC, the fact of the matter is that not many can afford one when compared to the relatively affordable and admittedly powerful eighth generation consoles.

AMD are a major representative of the common man in the PC gaming space, not being as expensive as the high end Nvidia technology, but still offering powerful hardware. Despite their attractive pricing and sturdy hardware, AMD are facing hard times as they continue to lose money as the demand for PC’s and AMD Graphics cards stays low and they’re also facing stiff competition from their opposition Intel.

AMD have posted a loss of 9 cents per share, which is worrying because analysts predicted a drop of around 5 cents, meaning they really missed their mark. AMD’s loss was $180 million in the quarter which ended on March 28th. Revenues were 26.2 percent down to $1.03 billion which is lower than the $1.05 billion expected by analysts.
