Angry Birds Trilogy Sells 1 Million Units, Highway Robbery Now Accepted

Now pay some one to mug you. Go on. Do it.

According to Rovio, Angry Birds Trilogy has sold 1 million units since its release for Xbox 360, PS3 and 3DS in September 2012. This success has prompted Rovio to announce it for the Wii U this year.

Rovio EVP of games Petri Järvilehto stated that. “It was certainly satisfying to see Angry Birds gameplay adapt so well to other platforms in 2012. the features specific to the Wii U are very intriguing to us, so we’re excited to release this version to fans.”

Compared to the monster success the mobile versions have achieved, this would seem rather sobering. However, when you consider that it includes Angry Birds, Angry Birds Seasons and Angry Birds Rio, with a couple of new levels, for $40 then it comes off as quite pricey and an example of uninformed consumerism.

Check out our review here, where we score the game a 5 out of 10 and essentially call it out for being “highly overpriced and mediocre”.
