Anthem Delays Cataclysm, Guilds, Mastery System, and More

BioWare has delayed some major planned upcoming content additions.

When BioWare released a 90 days post-launch roadmap for Anthem back in February, they promised some major content additions for the looter shooter. Some of those things, such as a Cataclysm event, and guilds system, and more freeplay events, were deemed necessary by the playerbase to add to the game’s lacking endgame.

In a new update posted on Reddit, BioWare has now confirmed that many of these additions have been delayed, confirming that they’ve spent a lot of their time on fixing bugs and improving general performance and stability, which has resulted in the studio having to push back several planned features.

“While we have delivered many of the Act 1 features on time, we are not going to hit all the goals on our Act 1 Calendar,” the developers wrote on Reddit. “We have been prioritizing things like bug fixes, stability and game flow over the new features of Act 1. We set aside time for this work, but the reality is there are more things to fix and improve than we planned for. While this is the best thing to do for the game, it means some items from the calendar will be delayed.”

These delays will affect the upcoming Cataclysm event, guilds, leaderboards, “some” freeplay events, weekly Stronghold challenges, the Mastery system, and phase 2 of Legendary Missions, all of which have been delayed. When we might expect to see these features added to the game isn’t something BioWare has gone into yet.

Anthem has, however, received a new update today, which adds new Stronghold to the game. BioWare’s looter shooter is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
