Anthem Short Film “Conviction” Released, Features Stellar Prop Work

District 9 director Neill Blomkamp shares his vision of events that occurred "decades" before the game.

District 9 and Chappie director Neill Blomkamp teased Conviction: An Anthem Story a few days ago, presenting a live-action short on BioWare’s looter shooter. Created by Blomkamp’s Oats Studios and prop maker Henchmen Studios, we finally get to see Conviction in all of its glory. Watch it for yourself below.

While the general plotline won’t make much sense for those unfamiliar with Anthem, it’s meant to set up the world. Conviction takes place decades before the actual game, and points to how Fort Tarsis was formed. Also, there’s a mysterious girl who knows about the Anthem of Creation. Neat.

Anthem is out on February 22nd for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. More importantly, it’s out tomorrow for Origin Access Premier subscribers on PC. Pay $14.99 for the month, and you can play the full game a week early. Stay tuned for more details on Anthem, especially with post-launch content like Shaper Storms and Cataclysms coming.
